Level One Obedience

The first step to becoming a Wolf Moon member, Obedience 1 is where you start for group classes.

This class is for those wanting a solid foundation of obedience fundamentals that will keep the owner, the dog, and others safe. We teach obedience from a the perspective of a modern, polished dog education system.

The teachings will include, but will not be limited to, basic obedience cues and commands such as:

  • How to lure

  • Place

  • Focus Cue

  • Sit, Sit-Stay

  • Come

  • Down, Down-Stay

  • Heel

  • Loose-leash Walking

  • Desensitization 

  • Greetings (proper socialization)

We also will go over tips to incorporate the learned obedience cues to resolve problem behaviors at home such as:

  • Jumping on owners & guests

  • Chewing

  • Puppy nipping

  • Barking

  • Digging

  • Bolting

  • Unruly Behavior in the House

  • Housebreaking

  • Accepting strangers

Price: $420

Prerequisites: Completed consultation prior to the start of the program. Dog must be older than 4 months (ideally 6 months)

Equipment Requirements: Leashes, collars, travel water bowl, treats, potty bags, clothes with pockets or have a treat pouch, athletic shoes

Frequency: 1 class per week for 6 weeks

Location: Nissequogue State Park

Class Duration: 60 minutes

Class Size: 6-8 dogs

Recommend for: Dogs starting out in their training journeys.
